the island naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades Greece, in the Aegean Sea. There are 44 "living" villages on the island along with endless sights and views.

the history is rich in all from the tale of Thesus leaving Ariadne on the beach to Byzantine churches, Venetian mansions and numerous medieval inter-village walking tracks.

it is located next to Paros at Naxos coordinates 37°6' N 25°22' E. It is the nuptial isle of the god Dionysus and has the highest mountain of the group, Mount Zas.

mili (Myloi) is small village 10 km from Chora (town) on the island Naxos. The village is situated on the hillside facing the Melanes (black earth) valley with Melanes village on the opposite hillside. In the wonderful Mili spring water from Kourous murmurs as it pours in aqueducts thru the village. The water is fresh to drink at whatever point you choose. You get your daily bread by hanging your bread bag in the bus station up on the road with 2 euros and delivered before noon.

there are buses twice a day but you will enjoy the house, beaches, sights and villages of Naxos easier if you rent a car, MC or moped.

there is a Café Neon (collection name for village cafés) in the middle Mili and they have full restaurant service as well as a 7-elevenish service (open May → mid-October).

there are walking several trails originating from the village. There are three restaurants in the neighbor village of Kouronouchori a wonderful 1 km path walk or drive away.

naxos is famous for its long beaches, in fact they have been ranked no 3 among all beaches in Greece. 40 kilometers of superb sandy coastline. Beaches safe for kids, extraordinary for wind surfing, busy as well as remote ones.

the most beautiful coasts of the island are on the west side with sandy beaches. Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka, Mikri Vigla, Kastraki, Alyko and Pyrgiaki are beaches in the south west protected from the northern wind known as the "meltemi". The closest beach is situated from 10 km from the house, but all are easily reached by car or bike.
